To be thorough and factual about the information being conveyed to the public, the City of Paramount inquired with SCAQMD about the nature of the four Public Health Directives issued in August 2017.
SCAQMD's independent Hearing Board approved issuance of a stipulated Order for Abatement requiring Lubeco Inc. – a metal-finishing facility in north Long Beach – to reduce its emissions of hexavalent chromium.
SCAQMD has detected elevated readings of hexavalent chromium being emitted from Lubeco Inc. (6859 Downey Ave) in Long Beach.
South Coast Air Quality Management District and the City of Paramount have collaborated to greatly expand the business license review process by the air quality regulatory.
