City to Proceed with Renewable Fuels Project: Petroleum Refining Eliminated for Good
On April 11, 2022, the Paramount City Council approved the plans and permits for the AltAir/World Energy Renewable Fuels Conversion Project that will end petroleum-based operations at the company’s facility and replace them entirely with renewable fuel production.
City Awarded Grant for Spane Park Stormwater Capture Project
The City of Paramount has been awarded a $891,984 grant from the Los Angeles County Safe, Clean Water (SCW) Program to design the Spane Park Stormwater Capture Project. Funding for the construction of the project is still being procured, and the project is merely in the design phase.
City of Paramount Declares Implementation of Stage 2 of Water Shortage Contingency Plan

Metal-Related Businesses to Hold Public Events
The City of Paramount is in the process of issuing Administrative Action permits to its 16 metal-related businesses in town. Following recommendations set forth by the City Council Air Quality Sub Committee in 2018, Paramount implemented a new Administrative Action permit program to provide closer oversight of potential air quality issues generated at these facilities.
