During a Special Meeting on June 27, 2018, the Planning Commission approved the Air Quality Sub Committee’s proposed zoning changes. City Council will begin final review of the amendments on Tuesday, August 7 at 6 pm.
Proposed Changes to Paramount’s Zoning Code
The City, with the help of the Air Quality Sub Committee, came to the conclusion that its most powerful tool for improving air quality in the longterm was its zoning code.

City Allocates Funding to Expand Air Quality Monitoring
As part of the ongoing collaborative effort between SCAQMD and the City of Paramount, the Paramount City Council voted 5-0 on January 10 to allocate $50,000 to purchase approximately ten air monitoring devices.
City Votes for Moratorium on Metal-Related Business Licenses and Expansion
The City Council of Paramount has voted to impose a 45 day moratorium on any new or expanding metal-related businesses in the City. This moratorium was recommended for passed at the City Council meeting on December 13, 2016.
