SCAQMD Modifies Air Monitoring Operations During COVID-19

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) has announced modifications to its air monitoring schedules. Reduced personnel in the lab is also expected to delay data analysis and the posting of results online.

On a local level, the frequency of Paramount’s air quality testing will be reduced from three days a week to two days a week. Furthermore, only select sites will continue being monitored during this time. Sites to still be tested include: 2, 8, 14, 15, 16, 19, and 23. “As we continue to support our community during the Safer at Home health order, we remain committed to ensuring the health and safety of our residents,” commented Mayor Peggy Lemons. “We will continue to track updates from SCAQMD and keep our community informed of air quality updates during these Safer at Home orders.”
