SCAQMD Continued Hearing for Anaplex Corporation

The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Hearing Board met on April 5, 2017 to continue the public hearing to consider potential modifications to the Stipulated Order for Anaplex Corporation. The Stipulated Order for Abatement was issued on January 11, 2017 for the purpose of addressing hexavalent chromium emissions in the City of Paramount.

During the continued hearing, rather than discussing the effectiveness of the Stipulated Order or any desired changes from SCAQMD or Anaplex, the Hearing Board and representatives from Anaplex agreed to a Stipulated Minute. The Stipulated Minute is meant to work parallel to the Stipulated Order: Anaplex is still in the process of completing and fully submitting an application for its currently unpermitted equipment to SCAQMD. As such, the Hearing Board agreed to wait until April 25, 2017 to further review the original Stipulated Order. On this date, Anaplex’s application must be fully submitted so that SCAQMD staff can begin review; if Anaplex’s application is not complete by this time, then the Hearing Board will schedule an official hearing for May 9, 2017.
