On Tuesday, June 13, from 6PM to 8PM, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) will provide an update on its special air monitoring and investigations related to hexavalent chromium emissions from metal processing facilities in Paramount. The Town Hall meeting will take place at the Paramount Community Center, 14400 Paramount Boulevard.
Prior to this, SCAQMD will be hosting a pre-meeting gathering, where the public is invited to ask questions and discuss various topics with members of SCAQMD’s major divisions. These include Compliance and Enforcement, Monitoring, and Media, among others.
The pre-meeting will begin at 5PM, with each SCAQMD division at its own table for direct conversations with members of the public. The pre-meeting will last for one hour, until the Town Hall starts. Residents will also have the opportunity to provide input and talk with SCAQMD staff during the Town Hall itself.
