The City has long been proud of its lush, green, urban forest. To celebrate Arbor Day this year, the City will be adding dozens of new trees to the landscape on Saturday, April 28.
The First Annual Community Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Planting Event needs volunteers to help with the planting. Bring shovels, gloves, and closed-toed shoes, and be a tree person for a day!
Check-in time for volunteers will be 8:30 a.m. at Progress Park (15500 Downey Ave.) with the planting from 9:00 a.m. to noon. To join up and make Paramount an even more beautiful place, please email our community partner mike.mckown@erc.la.
Thank you to West Coast Arborist for donating the trees.
Free Mulch for Residents
Also, to benefit Paramount residents and their yards, the City will be giving away from free mulch that day, also in Progress Park from 9:00 a.m. till noon. Show up with a container (limit two, no larger than 32 gallons) and scoop away. (No bags or pick-up truck beds.) This is for residents only – you will need to show photo ID or a utility bill with a Paramount address.
