Clean Power Alliance Offers Bill Assistance During COVID

The Clean Power Alliance (CPA), one of Paramount’s energy providers, is offering a bill assistance program to customers experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19. Customers enrolled in one of Southern California Edison’s (SCE) financial assistance programs are eligible to receive a $25 credit applied to their next CPA bill.

How it works

SCE offers three financial assistance programs that apply discounts to utility bills for eligible households. Customers who enroll in one of these programs through SCE on or after March 16, 2020, or who are already enrolled and sign up for a payment plan through SCE, will receive an additional one-time $25 credit from CPA. The credit will automatically be applied to eligible CPA bills; there is no need to sign up through CPA.

SCE Financial Assistance Programs

California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) Program

Customers who meet income requirements or who participate in public assistance programs, like CalFresh/SNAP (Food Stamps) or Medi-Cal/Medicaid, can apply to have their energy bills reduced by up to 30%.

Family Electric Rate (FERA) Program

Families of three (3) or more who meet income requirements or participate in public assistance programs may have energy bills reduced by 18%.

Medical Baseline Program

Customers who need electrically powered medical equipment in their household or meet income requirements can apply to receive the extra electricity needed to power their devices at no additional cost.

Small Business Assistance

To support small businesses impacted by COVID-19, CPA will apply a one-time $50 credit to qualifying customers who sign up for SCE’s payment plan on or after March 16.
