On Friday, June 5, 2026, the City of Paramount officially welcomed Sprouts Farmers Market (15121 Paramount Blvd.) as the newest operating business in the community. Sprouts represents more than a new shopping destination for residents; it’s a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices, advancing the City’s ongoing efforts to build a greener and healthier future.
The new store incorporates several environmentally conscious features designed to reduce impact on natural resources and support more sustainable operations, including:
- Rooftop solar panels to generate renewable energy, produce energy savings and reduce energy consumption
- Onsite electric vehicle charging stations to promote clean transportation options
- Bike racks and lockers to support alternative modes of transportation for both customers and employees
To enhance water conservation efforts, Sprouts has incorporated low-flow water fixtures, drip irrigation systems and drought-tolerant landscaping to minimize water use. In addition to sustainable operations, Sprouts also recycled or salvaged approximately 65% of construction waste, helping divert materials from landfills and reduce the project’s environmental footprint.
Sprouts will continue to promote sustainable actions through comprehensive recycling and food waste diversion programs. Surplus food will be donated to anti-hunger organizations whenever possible, and food will be responsibly sourced through its business operations. Sprouts sources produce from local growers, offers “responsibly sourced” seafood and expects organic products to account for 30% of sales.
This opening marks another big step forward for Paramount’s journey to furthering sustainability and economic growth. By welcoming businesses that prioritize environmental stewardship, the City continues to create opportunities that benefit residents and businesses and contribute to the safe, healthy and attractive Paramount that everyone has come to know and love.
