Selection of New Air Quality Sub Committee Participants, Next Meeting January 31

In early January, Paramount residents were invited to apply to serve as participants for the City’s Air Quality Sub Committee. Out of thirteen applicants, three community members were selected: Mauricio Hernandez, Jacklyn Avila, and Guillermo Parga. These residents will work alongside the Sub Committee members (Mayor Daryl Hofmeyer and Councilmember Diane J. Martinez) and other participants (Public Works Commissioner Alexander Garcia and Public Works Commissioner Rosemary Vasquez), as well as PUSD Assistant Superintendent Ruben Frutos and Pastor Rudy Rubio of Emmanuel Reformed Church.

“Community members play an essential role within our city,” said Mayor Daryl Hofmeyer. “As such, it is vital that we include their ideas and input in our efforts to fully address the recent environmental concerns and work together towards a solution. Thank you to all thirteen community members who applied and congratulations to Mauricio, Jacklyn, and Guillermo.”

The second meeting of the Air Quality Sub Committee will be on Tuesday, January 31 at 7:00PM at Progress Park Plaza, 15500 Downey Avenue. The Sub Committee will discuss the current air quality situation and develop recommendations for the City Council’s consideration. The meeting will be conducted as a working meeting. Spanish translation and child care will be available. Materials for this meeting can be downloaded below:
