At the July 27th Paramount City Council Air Quality Sub Committee meeting, Eddy Huang of the environmental consulting firm Tetra Tech described the air quality reference points used by two regulatory agencies: the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). His goal was to give a comprehensive view of the various standards set by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) and other regulatory agencies so the public could understand the short- and long-term health effects of hexavalent chromium.
Mr. Huang’s presentation was complex and required a few clarifications. Consequently, Tetra Tech’s Brian Jordan reported more detailed explanations to the City Council at its August 8th meeting. That PowerPoint presentation can be viewed and downloaded below; the explanations begin on Slide 4. If you have any questions regarding this topic, please submit them on the Contact page.
