City of Paramount Presents Fact-Based Information to the Community

PEP Moms Presentation

Paramount Education Partnership presentation

The City of Paramount has dedicated itself to informing residents about hexavalent chromium while asking for community input to proactively address the ongoing issue. City staff and the environmental consultant Tetra Tech have been working together to give presentations to various groups throughout the Paramount community over the last few months.

During the most recent presentation, staff and Tetra Tech representatives spoke to a group of parents at the Paramount Education Partnership’s Community Learning Resource Center at Spane Park. On Tuesday, April 18, Consultant Brian Jordan provided background information on the issue and detailed the City’s actions, as well as its collaborative efforts with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD). Following this, he detailed the latest air quality monitoring data.

Numerous such presentations have been held since the beginning of 2017 with the following groups:

  • Paramount High School Students
  • Parent-Teacher Association
  • Teacher’s Union
  • Paramount Senior Center

The City and Tetra Tech will continue these sessions to update the community with the most current information and foster in-depth discussion among residents. If your community group is interested in learning more about the hexavalent chromium issue and would like to request a presentation, please contact the City via this link.
