The City of Paramount recently applied to join a program that would position the community to receive state funding for a community air monitoring campaign and community emission reduction program.
Staff have continued attending meetings hosted by SCAQMD to stay updated on the process.
On June 13, 2018, SCAQMD hosted a community meeting in South Gate Park in South Gate to discuss the implementation of AB 617.
AB 617 requires the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to develop a monitoring plan for the state and then select, based on the plan, the highest priority locations to deploy community air monitoring systems.
