City Requests Health Risk Assessment
In response to recent air quality issues, the City of Paramount requested that SCAQMD conduct a comprehensive HRA due to their expertise. Although SCAQMD thanked the City for their continued support in the hexavalent chromium issue, the District declined to conduct an HRA.
Monthly Water Testing – January Results
Based off samples taken on January 23, 2017, there has been no change in the level of hexavalent chromium of 0.09 ug/l, which is less than the detection limit of 1 part per billion (ppb) for drinking water.
Fire Department Investigates Anaplex Roof Cleaning
The Health Hazardous Materials Division of the Los Angeles County Fire Department investigated Anaplex’s cleaning methods and procedures at the beginning of January after a wide range of hexavalent chromium deposits were found on the facility’s roof.
Anaplex Emissions Result in Curtailment
Anaplex Corporation has violated the terms of its abatement order to mitigate hexavalent chromium emissions: on January 31, 2017, one of the SCAQMD monitors located near Anaplex detected a reading of 15.17 nanograms per cubic meter.
